And finally, I have now managed to mistnet and photograph in the hand all the different juncos (genus Junco) in North America, so here are some portraits of the main ones! (by the way, the taxonomy on these is still iffy...). We are now working on understanding the evolution of this fascinating radiation using genetics, morphology and plumage color... new results coming soon.
